Hacin's design team worked with BioMed Realty, a leading provider of real estate solutions for the life science and technology industries, on the interior and architecture of their East Coast headquarters, due for completion in 2022. Originally hired by BMR to renovate existing space in a nearby office building, Hacin went on to assist them in relocating their growing Cambridge presence to the recently completed 314 Main Street, located at the intersection of innovation in Kendall Square, at the gateway to MIT. Hacin designed the vacant, open 14th floor as a warm, organic and inviting workspace with natural materials and welcoming amenities. 320 N Sangamon is a modern take on the traditional loft-style building in Chicago’s Fulton Market. Hub50House is a striking addition to The Hub on Causeway, a mixed-use, multi-phased development. Capitalizing on its height and views of the Charles River and downtown Boston, the 380,000-square-foot, 38-story tower elegantly steps outward on the site’s north side to maximize the number units with views to the city. The diversity of uses within The Hub on Causeway is echoed in the diversity of unit types offered in the residential tower’s 440 apartments, ranging from “metro” units to three-bedroom residences. Bringing back the palm trees: an elegant new hotel and public square in the heart of Seville Borgos Pieper has completed a new five-star Radisson Collection hotel and transformed Plaza de la Magdalena in the historic centre of Seville. The LEED Gold project has entirely reinvented two buildings, which together define the western edge of the square: ‘Magdalena’, a former 1960s glass-fronted department store, and ‘Rioja’, a smaller office building bordering Calle Rioja. Magdalena had once been the site of the Hotel Paris, an ornate hotel fronted by palm trees – the fashionable place to be seen at the end of the nineteenth century. The Villa Metro is An office building located in Mokotów at the intersection of Warsaw's communication arteries within the large communication and interchange hub, which consists of: metro station for Line I, bus terminus, tram terminus and P+R facilities. The building is directly adjacent to the entrances to the “Wilanowska” metro station rebuilt as part of same investment. As a model of simplicity, sustainability, and urban connectivity, the complex propels the evolution of a dynamic central business district in the port city. The new terminal at Kansas City International Airport (KCI)—designed, planned, and engineered by SOM with Clark | Weitz | Clarkson (CWC) and a team of consultants largely led by women—is a state-of-the-art travel hub that transforms the existing airport. This 1.1-million-square-foot building replaces the original, overcrowded terminals, built in 1972, with a single 39-gate complex designed to expand to 50 gates in the future. Integrating with the original Rosemont Centre, the new Rosemont Aquatic Centre offers a contemporary and respectful expansion that includes a semi-Olympic pool, an acclimatization pool, and multifunctional rooms. OpenAire was approached by the design team at Utile to complete their vision of a glass sun room as part of the renovation for the Google Cambridge Offices in Cambridge Massachusetts. Caption While the resulting enclosure is a mere 84 m2, it packs a big punch, bringing the outside in through operable walls and a glass roof.
