Upper East Side Apartment
A few surgical interventions dramatically changed the use of this Upper East Side apartment. The windows of this landmarked building overlook a gorgeously landscaped inner courtyard. But the unit had no laundry room and no central AC; the flooring was a mishmash of types and levels; and the small kitchen was hidden down a long hall by the servants’ quarters.

First, we doubled the size of the kitchen, giving it an island and two windows, with countertops and backsplashes in charcoal gray concrete. Sized for a whole family to use, the kitchen is now connected directly to the dining room. With our new alignment, you also get a long view from the kitchen all the way to the living room windows.

Ex Machina Soundworks
On the site of single-story garage in Bushwick, we built a Willy Wonka factory for audio technology. The new two-story facility contains a recording studio, an R&D lab, a vast assembly room, an anechoic testing chamber, and a lounge–all connected by an open metal stair that winds its way up to an expansive roof deck.

The state-of-the-art recording studio is a room of extremely precise dimensions floating within a concrete-block box. Compositionally, that CMU box emerges on the front façade of the building, where it was painted by a graffiti artist commissioned by the owner. The rest of the façade is Corten steel and Kalwall panels.

We revitalized this Prospect Heights brownstone with bold strokes of modernism set against the careful restoration of this landmarked building. The parlor floor is all new herringbone oak and brass accents under lovingly restored stained glass windows and dark mahogany millwork.

In London’s upmarket Chelsea neighborhood, British architectural studio Bindloss Dawes has completed the remodeling of a compact mews house. The home’s original dark and cramped spaces have been replaced and revitalized with light and volume introduced throughout its interior.

A couple of clients moved from an apartment to a private three-story house in a regenerating neighborhood in the central area of Israel.
The couple has two children aged 10 and 12 and one daughter at the age 22.

The requirement was for a modern and spacious house with a shared public space where everyone can see everyone else. And at the same time, everyone can be busy with their own affairs without disturbing the other.

Casa Panambi
Panambi House is located in a noble, quiet and wooded area of the city of Toledo, in the interior of state of Paraná. With the intention of dissolving the barriers between public and private, we expanded the access to the house, making the sidewalk an integral part of this set. In order to respect the privacy of the residents, we raised the access by adding floating steps that interact with planters on different levels, leading the user to the entrance hall.

Golden Apartment
The Golden Apartment was born from the young owner's desire to create a modern-classic space with an "oriental" atmosphere. The original floor plan, filled with excessive angles, was completely redesigned to achieve a clean, fluid, and functional space.

The main materials chosen were gray limestone (for living rooms, dining rooms, circulation areas, and bathrooms) and peroba wood for intimate areas (bedrooms, balcony, and library). To enhance the boundary between the living room and the balcony (created by wooden slatted folding screens), cone-shaped columns and solid wood beams, also made of peroba wood, were used as architectural elements.

Bantleon AG
Bond manager Bantleon specialises in safe capital investments. Safe investments and lucrative yields are a balancing act that Berlin illustrator Olaf Hajek has portrayed for the company in congenial, contemporary illustrations. The inner core, dictated by the architecture, encompasses a multifunctional wooden wall that transforms the corporate image illustrations into spectacular 'akustography' images. In addition to fulfilling its acoustic purpose, it also incorporates numerous functional elements such as a fact-sheet shelf, a mineral water dispenser, cupboards for files, solid-wood pull-outs for office materials and cloakroom units in one room zone.

A horizontal plane suspended over a natural sloping terrain. These two elements delimit the void to work on.
Within this contained space, loose volumes are organized to delineate the different living functions.

The terrain is in a circular cul-de-sac, forming a portion of a 1350-meter circle with a steep slope that rises towards the back.
